Margaret River Rotary Club have recently been working with Margaret River Hockey Club, plus local service clubs and companies to create funding for a new sports facility in the community. $300,000 has been raised so far including a $50,000 donation from Rotary Margaret River towards the new synthetic surface training turf for the hockey club.
10/12/19: Thanks to Maxine Williams for her presentaion to the club this week about the progress with the development of the Hockey Training facilities. It will be situated next to the Bowling Club, within walking distance of four schools. It will consist of synthetic turf, with lighting and will be managed by the Shire which has provided strong supported the project. Construction will begin as soon as a State Grant is received.
The Hockey Club has set up a GoFundMe Page for local community members to donate to the next stage of the turf project.
